I put a 4" straight pipe on my 03 when I had it and I loved it. I see in your sig you have a 5th wheel, depending on what rpms you usually pull on the freeway, you may get a drone that can get annoying on long trips.

Had a buddy with the straight pipe, and while it sounded good, the drone, especially pulling was too much. Had to eventually put a muffler back on.

I see a lot of people that have complained about drone when straight piped well I tow heavy and I tow heavy a lot and I am straight piped no drone and not annoying either when windows are up BUT have any passenger side window down and you hear A LOT of noise ALL the time cars next to you walls, tress whatever it all does a good job of reflecting the noise but still not bad enough where I have put anything on it although I may get an aero muffler just to try it out but I can say I love the sound most of the time.

Now my old 96 was straight piped now there was drone! long hauls were bad especially at night wanting to put me to sleep...lol

Oh and as long as you have your exhaust hung really well and the tailpipe is outside from under your truck the drone is GREATLY reduced if not eliminated.

It is LOUD!!!!!!!!!

It sounds good during the day but at night you realize just how loud it really is. Leave the CAT on and remove the muffler and your truck will sound awesome! Even better than most aftermarket systems. And no drone either. Basically it will sound like Straight Pipe, only 2/3rds as loud....

I love my straight pipe. It may be too loud for some people but I wouldn't change anything about mine. Besides, it kills the roaring sound from my tires!

Ditto here. I just removed an RPM muffler delete pipe. Sounded great unloaded, but while towing 8K or so last year the resulting drone triggered my wife's migaines something serious. She was a trooper and didn't complain. But was pretty much out of it the whole vacation on her migraine meds and didn't get much rest or enjoyment. Haven't updated siggy yet, but just installed a 51 inch/5 inch diameter muffler from Fleetpride for this summer's towing vacation.

Anyone want an RPM delete pipe with hangers welded on for a quad cab shortbed, PM me...

I think i might take this rout. I tow alot in the summer months so the drone may be an issue. Hey Dodgezilla I got that exhaust tip from DPPI its sweet! thanks for the info. it is like a mega phone and it is keeping the soot from my bumper so far.

thanks for the info everyone.

As DodgeZilla said, no cat/muffler is really loud. Just remove the muffler and leave the cat and it will sound good. That was how I ran my truck for awhile before switching to the Magnaflow 5" turbo back kit.

Well, I have a 6.7 where you can't really remove anything to make it louder without causing problems. My exhaust is currently stock. Just removing the muffler on a 6.7 truck is a waste of time due to all the other stuff in front of the muffler.
On my last truck (07 5.9/6-speed)I had the CAT in place but removed the muffler. I loved the sound...
