New diesel owner
Hello,
I just purchased my first diesel 2005 4x4 3500 single wheel. Norm- drive local and tow 30ft travel trailer with the family. Looking to make some more HP with out killing the budget. I have read about tuners, exhaust etc. What is the best HP for my money? Someone told me to replace the pipe after the turbo to get easy HP and lower EGT. Is this true? What programmer is the best for the dollar? Any help or advise is greatly appreciated.

As you can tell I am new. Still trying to learn the ropes. First time diesel owner, 1st time forum user. I want to change my stock air filter, any suggestions KN,Airrade, Stage 2 etc?
You can see by everyones sig what they are running and I would venture a bet everybody like their own set-up, I DO
. Now was it cheap... NO, but I enjoy it and it runs well. As far as starting out, first should be a set of gauges, followed by opening up the exhaust and air intake. Your exhaust is already 4" so you just need to remove that 100 pound propane cylinder they call a muffler and put something there that flows a little better, if you happen to have a kitty fall out
when you cut the pipe that will be up to you. I run a Scotty and Blu Tube for air in, I like it. Edge is a popular choice for boxes, simple and well... EASY. Remember all these changes MAY cause trouble at your particular dealer so remember YMMV. Happy BOMBing!!!

Thanks for all the feedback! I am not planning on going overboard. Just looking for a little pickup. I need 300K + out of my CTD. Dont have the money to void the warranty and assume that cost. Think I will change the air filter and go synthetic, change muffer. I heard about a big truck muffer...maybe try that. I like what i have heard about the Quad but still a little worried about a miss problem??
Thanks all.
