Nerf Bars

Just got a new flame red truck and want to find some chrome or stainless nerf bars. I am kooking for some good heavy duty ones , some of my friends are some big boys and I don't want them to fall off when they step up on them. I have a short bed Q-cab and want the ones that go from wheel to wheel. Had to put OLD 93 up for sale because of two back sugerys. Thanks

I was just looking at the writeup on the new Power Wagon. Check it out. Sorry, I don't have the link. It has some nice looking nerf bars or rock runners on it. I'm anxious to see how strong they are and maybe put a set on my '04. It would be cool to get a set from Dodge that were worthy of a few rock grinds. I'd hate to smash the rockers. Everything else I've seen are all show and no go. The slightest hit would tear them right off.

I've got a '93 too. Crude, but a great truck. I've had some excellent desert trips with it.

Check out the Putco Boss bars. I bought them but haven't gotten around to installing them. They have a WTW version for our trucks. The best deal I could find on them was at Truck Extras. Good luck.

I put a set of westin Platinium series step bars on. They were very easy to install and seem pretty rugged.

Check out n-fab.com. These are the ones that I'll be getting. Tire to tire and 3 steps per side.

Local shop poo-pooed on the westins prefering "Back Country" boards instead. Polished stainless, rather than chrome plated. Step portion is crimped/formed into the tube not cut. They looked pretty nice and are locally made. Any thoughts on these?

I have the Back Country and am happy with them. Neityher my dad or I are small guys and they don't give when we step on them, and he has back and leg problems, so he uses them a lot. Also they accent the flame red nicely. I got mine for $289 for the stainless.

I got the Westin Platinums in black. They look nice, however, the fit is not so hot. The driver's step is perfectly aligned but the rear door step is up to tight with the body even with extra shims in rear.

Howdy,
I bought the westin platinum s/s wtw nerfs and they look great and fit perfectly! true they are chrome over stainless but much easier to clean. As for sturdiness I weigh about 285 and am 6' 5" and they slightly flex due to a mounting bracket bolted to stock body mounts, but not bad. I saw the putco bully bars 4" but in CA they aren't available yet (april 04). FYI most shops that carry bars have some in stock and you can put them on stands next to your truck to get a general idea.
