Need some opinions (tires, levelling kits)

Alright guys, I'm about ready to get a new set of tires. There are many more sizes available than before when i first got 20s, so I'm hoping I have more selection to work with.

My truck has the daystar 1.5 kit. I can just clear 275/55r20 tires with maybe 1/2" clearance from the inner fender liner on the back. I want to go back to a full AT tire. The Terra Grappler is now available in a 285/55r20 E range (my first set of terras were 285/50 d range and a little soft) and may be the ticket. But I see they are an inch taller. I'm thinking I will rub, but not terribly. I want (need) an e range tire.

So I am thinking of swapping my daystar for the 2.5" kit. But I see that control arms are recommended, and are not cheap. Can I get by with stock control arms and bilstein hd shocks????

What do ya'll think??? Go back to Terras??? Dune Grappler????

i have a 2.5" leveling kit on my truck with no control arm problems... i got it aligned after i had the kit installed, it looks awesome, handles like a stock truck and rides like stock, i am running 305/70-18 mickey thompson ATZs with no rubbing. on my old 2500 i had 315/75-17s on 4.5" off set wheels, i had to take the mud flaps off and do some slight fender work. but i had no rubbing...

i definitely recommend the 2.5 for maximum looks and performance...

I have a 2.5in pro comp lvl kit running 35x12.50's and I rub a lil because my rims are 20x10's but if I had 20x9's they would be perfect.....by the way I don't rub the cotrol arms just the ineer fender at about 3/4 turn on the driver's side not the right side.

Hey Rick,

Someone on this forum is running the Daystar 2.5" lift on a 2wd. No other mods other than longer shocks. Only concern would be on how long the ball joints will last.

Yea I decided not to mess with the 1.5" kit, it is fine. I will just get the Terra grappler 285/55r20s which should just barely fit without rubbing. And i have new Bilsteins on the truck, don't want to have to swap them out again. I may flip the blocks on the rear to level it out some more. And I think the stacks are coming off, just ready for something different.
