2" levelling kit -- Need aftermarket shocks?

I am about to install a 2" levelling kit. The company states I don't need anything else to make everything work right.

Has anyone installed these kits without aftermarket shocks? I won't be doing much off-roading, but if I did what may happen?

The kit is just the block you mount about the coil spring.

I put a 2 inch level on my truck and while you may not "need" shocks, they will run out of travel real fast if you keep the original ones. I went ahead and put new ones on with my kit. I personally would suggest new ones just to make sure. I've added a rear leaf (about 1.5" lift) and while I didn't go longer shocks there I will when I replace the ones that are currently in use.

To me, shocks are pretty cheap in the big scheme of things and worth the money to keep them in good shape and of the proper fit. Especially when you consider they are helping keep those expensive tires in better shape and lasting longer.

I've been running one for the last 1000 miles with stock shocks. Normal driving situations (speed bumps, dips, Geo's) don't require new shocks. If you plan on taking offroad a bit then shocks are a good idea.

Ive been running a 2" level kit w/ stock shock for about 25K> seems to be ok. If i were to do it again, I would replace stock shock all the way around.
