Need the skinny on Edge Boxes

Hello, OK, I am a 2nd Gen veteran and a 3rd Gen newbie, I see all these Edge boxes and I have some questions. First off, I see the Edge Juice and another with "Attitude", what is the major difference? i assume I should just get the "attitude" one but help me understand why. Also, I am use to the old "Comp" boxes that had the EZ built in, it appears these new 'Juice" boxes do not have this, I am assuming this b/c I see you guys stacking the EZ w/ the Juice box (plz correct me if I am wrong on this). Now for the tricky question, I only have about 650 miles on this truck and warranty is a concern, Should I be waiting a while to install, well let's say an EZ to start? If the Juice box doesn't have the EZ built in I would probably start there and piggy-back later. Are their a lot of CP3 failures related w/ these boxes (meaning the "fault" of the box and not just a bad pump), I still have VP-44 nightmares I guess. Sorry for the long post but any feed-back would be appreciated, I did alot of trial and error on my old truck and want to do it right the first time this time around. FYI I will bve installing an air intake and at a minimum the MBRP muff and delete pipe before anything. Thanks

the juice is the actual performance module. The attitude is only a monitor, but gives you some aditional power levels and protection features. Most of the fuel systems failures are due to pressure boxes (ie. EZ). The juice does just timming and duration for the 04.5+ trucks.

If you modify your truck in any way you will void most of your factory warranty!!! This is true for any make or model of vehicle!

Just so I understand this right, the Juice box gives more power however doesn't mess w/ the rail pressure? So more power=safer (for the inj pump at least), wow, what a difference from the 2nd Gen trucks,Am i wasting my time w/ Edge? I see this "Crazy Larry" stuff and alot of TST products and "Power pups"...do these perform better on the 3rd gen trucks? I also notice injector swaps aren't as popular on these trucks (they are much more on these trucks, that is probably why) Keep it coming, Thanks.

downloaders such as "crazy larry" do rail pressure and also leave a trace on your computer making it harder to get warranty issues covered. Tst does just timing and is not a down loader.

hey hey dont rule out doin your injectors. So far thats the best mod I have done. Call Ross at DDP. My truck runs so much smoother now I would spend the money just for the smoothness never mind the power. Plus now when I upgrade the turbo fuel system and stack a VA box Ill make that much more power (probably goin to need a CP3 mod). Im planning on goin way overboard in the next 2 years on this thing.I want to do it all right the first time so im in no rush.

I was told they are beta testing the 06 Juice/Attitude now for a few weeks and that they will be available in late April. The Edge guys at SEMA told me this. I need to call them and see if they need any help

so can anyone advise on some long term use of the juice. i've been looking for a very moderate increase without pressure because i want the longevity of the cummins to remain. (200,000 plus)

Well I've had mine on since my truck was new and it has about 15K on it now. So far no problems, codes, etc. The only thing I would suggest is a better lift pump. The Juice only does injector timing and duration on the 600 motors.

I put my Juice on at 5k and it's been trouble free for 8k so far. I never run past #3 for fear of roasting something. Well, I did do a sort #4 run once and only once, put it on #5 just to make sure it would go there. Never tow above #2 and run #1 most times.

It will raise your EGT's so best to have some minor intake/exhaust mods done first. I simply have a BHAF and Donaldson 51" muffler (shoulda done the 40"). Just installed a fuel pressure and trans temp gauge. They're (Edge) pretty conservative with the default protection settings. I raised the EGT cutoff from 1240 to 1340 and haven't had any trouble. The guys that say you can't run past 1250 aren't aware that the 600's normally run hotter. I can see 1400+ on hard pulls on stock settings.

I ran one for 40k on my 04.5 and it was great. I never had codes related to the box. I really liked the in cab adjustability, and the safety features that are built in. I also really like the fact that the Juice would adjust the timing/duration as a % of engine temp. This means there was no pinging from timing advance when the motor was cold. I get that now with my Rokktech.

I did have to replace a CP3 right before I traded it, but I don't consider that to be related to the Juice. It had a leak that many have experienced regardless of whether it was boxed or not. It is also very easy to remove when you do need to take it in for warranty, which I did when I took it in for the leaking CP3.
