I have a 03 4wd Auto Dually and I have a MBRP 4'' turbo back, AFE stage2 with pro guard 7, and I have the Edge EZ. It puts out a little bit of smoke at take off, and then when I step on it a little bit. But its nothing like I have seen on other trucks. What else do I need? And I was also wondering what I can stack with the edge ez?

 

Smarty....DiabloSport.... or Bully Dog.....will make her smoke....

 

What do you guys recommend? I tow a 28' enclosed trailer with a race car and tools and such in it. Other than that it is a toy. I dont want to have to replace the tranny or anything expensive like that. How is the Hypertech?

 

smoke = old worn out IDI Ford diesel or high school stuff.

 

Well with having an auto, without upgrading the tranny...then you are kind of limited on the HP upgrades. The stock tranny will usually only hold around 90 additional HP before it needs upgraded.

I personally don't have any experience with Hypertech. I have used the Edge Ez, Bully Dog Power Pup stacked with a Predator module & now the DiabloSport Predator/Puck combination.

For my truck, the DiabloSport Predator programmer & the Puck works the best.

 

I was writing on this board 3 months ago that my '06 doesn't smoke at all. Since then, Edge went hot, kitty went bye-bye. It smokes good now, real good.

 

The easiest way to get smoke is sell the edge buy a smarty or triple dog.I would not stack unless you have money for trans, fuel system , and turbo upgrades. But that is just my .02 and it is your truck

 

smarty, undetectable at the dealer, set it to any of the settings and you will likely smoke, ALOT, and you can keep it on while towing. Plus if you ever do get the disease and upgrade you will have plenty of room to play. Also new downloads for whatever you upgrade to, tire height adjustment, scan tool, Blah blah blah. You get smoke and will love it. Be carefull with it.

 

Sorry.. i dont mean to hijack your thread but i have a couple quick questions kinda on topic...ok i know its a newb question but when you guys say smarty what tuner is that.. is there a website or classified you could post so i could look at this and maybe get one for my '06? Also i still have a stock tranny but im looking into getting the banks torque converter.. how much should i worry still about my tranny once i have the TC??

Ive got the smarty on my 06, with the factory programming from Mads, It only smoked a little even on #9. Now im running beta 4.4 on #9 and it hardly smokes at all. My truck has never blacked out intersections no matter how hard I have tried. What am I doing wrong??? I had great expectations on leaving a BBCOD on my buddies duramax and it let me down!

 

I dont see any tranny mods in your sig, if you are trying to run Smarty anything above SW3 it is smoking your stock trans, therefore never locking up and just spinning not making any smoke.(except for burt tq converter and clutch pack smoke ) I have tried the new 4.4, and I guarrantee you if you tried to run LVL 9 , you tore it up big time.

I drive around with an egg under my foot on level #9 trying to smoke as little as possible. It still smokes though.

I've never really understood why some people are so concerned with just making smoke (which IS pollution) and not power. I understand most of us want more power and smoke is just a byproduct of that, but just wanting to blow smoke for no reason seems silly to me. I'm sure I'm in the minority here and will probably get flamed for this.

 

What bullydog or smarty do you guys recommend? Arent there different ones? I know that bullydog has the power pup, and the triple dog. I dont want to do tranny upgrades so keep that in mind.
