N-Fab Nerf Bars, hard to install?
Just ordered a set of N-Fab Nerf Bars wheel to wheel for 06 Mega Cab. How difficult is it to install them. Anything to beware of
Thanks,

Donald,
Where did you order them from? Chrome (paint) or black? I spoke to the owner of N-Fab in Houston here, I think he told me you had to drill 6 holes in the flange below the door. It did not sound difficult to me, I am sure an extra set of hands would help.

Herrin on here has a set on his Quad Cab 2006 and can help you out...sure he will post soon. From what he told me they were not difficult at all just a two person job to hold up and adjust right.
Not hard, but make sure your drill bits are good and sharp....A step drill would have been best, I just drilled a small pilot and worked my way up with regular bits...Also, use a center punch!
What I did was put tape on the underside of the truck, had someone hold the bars up level, and then marked my holes on the tape....worked good....Then after I drilled them, I measured that one side, so I could drill the same points on the other side
One guy could so it if you had jackstands....

2 weeks?? I got mine next-day
Install is easy
It took me about 45 minutes to install mine. You will need a extra set of hands to help hold the steps and a set of jack stands may also come in handy if you have them. I also went down to the hardware store and bought some new stainless steel 3"x 5/16" bolts, nuts and washers that have the hex head. Wen you get your steps you will see why - mine came with carriage bolts the ones with a flat head... I thought the hex heads would look a little better. A black sharpie to mark the alignmet of the holes works good, a punch to keep your drill bit from walking all over the place, two different drill bits one small like eigth inch for a pilot hole and another larger like 3/8". Oh and the box the steps come in work great for your helper to lay on the ground and help ya. You might want to double check the bolt size and the larger drill bit size they may be one size smaller. You'll love your steps!!!!!!!

Oh yeah..forgot
There were no lock washers in my kit...Seemed kinda goofy...So I bought some for peace of mind....You'll want to use an air ratchet to run 'em down....12 bolts is alot of wrenching under there...Also, pick up a can of paint to match either the steps or your truck, to cover the bolt heads when your done installing them...
