I was told the 04.5+ newer trucks have re-designed valves capable of 1450* without damage...unless it is for a long period of time...and yes always pre-turbo.

I'm not gonna lie...I've pegged a 1600* gauge before...but man donuts are FUN!

Kevin (morkable) is right about the turbo....i have one (SPS 6280) and love it!

You can go that high if you dont do it for long. But keep it below the 1350 mark for everyday driving

Your right, not arguing at all.....i was just pointing out that if someone ever sees 1400 they aren't a moving grenade.

what are the power settings on the Predator? I'm looking for something 30-50 HP and about 100ft/lbs, mostly to improve mileage too. I was leaning towards a Quadzilla XZT but reviews on that seem to be half/half.

BTW - I don't have anything to tow, got a diesel b/c I've always wanted one!

My predator and puck shipped yesterday!

I don;t think I am going to use the puck, sounds like my plastic IC will be at its limits with just the PREDATOR!

I have the Diablo Sport Tuner on mine truck and am very impressed with the results. I was running a stack but really did not need the box with mine. I usually use it in tow for the low end torque, it pulls my 30 footer like it was not back there. The majority of the time I run it in performance, if you stay of the go petal it really increased my fuel economy. I ran it one time in extreme for my youngest brother because he wanted one when the finish the 06 programming. I tell you that the baby got it, did some launches and had no problem melting away a new set of Nitto Grapplers. I took the program out after two launches because it will smoke the tranny or the components pre or post. I did make a bet that I could pull his trailer with a D-6 on the back up a 40-42 grade and hit the end at over 80mph, plus it smoked the tires until that trailer started moving from a dead stop.
Results: happy camper! and everyone that uses it will be impressed for the performance to dollar ratio. My box was a lot more and a lot less performance in my opinion.

I just have to tell you guys... any of you who run the Predator on extreme without guages, especially egt, are NUTS. I can hit 1600 degrees on extreme from a standing start in about 5 seconds. It throws a large amount of fuel for a stock turbo. And I can guarantee you're asking for a new short block if you mess around without monitering your egt's. Even on performance the temps can get toasty (1500+). Don't want to rag on you, just wanted to give you a heads-up...

Not ragging on you, but i cant imagine what those egts were at 80 from a dead stop pulling a D6. I hope you have gauges or dont plan on keeping that truck forever.
