Muffler Replacement Questions

I've got a 2003 Ram 2500 305/555 with currently stock exhaust. I'm okay with most of the exhaust being stock but I kind of want to add a more free flowing muffler and I've got some questions. Most of the mufflers I see are 4" inlet and out and I understand that the 2003-04 exhaust isn't 4" from the turbo back. So, what kind of parts might I need to just replace the current stock muffler with a 4" inlet/out muffler? I have seen the reducers and all, is that what I need to do it?

Thanks!

The 3rd gen mufflers have their inlet and outlet offset. You can order a pipe from Lary in the DTR store to allow you to use a straight through muffler. If the pipe is a different size then adding a couple adapters would be all the extra parts you need. Lary should know what you need.
