mpg question
mpg question
So I was sitting reading another thread and it got me thinking. Last year bought my smarty around may and my milage jumped up to 20-21 hand calc on the highway. In july i went to visit my sister in south carolina and on the way home i filled up at a place that sold b20 and my milage has never been the same since. I now get around 17-18 mpg. Could that bio have loosened something up? I haven't had any problems with the truck, altough there is a slight rattle sometimes. I'm just trying to figure out why my milage dropped after that trip. Just doing some thinking
Yeah, bio is known to loosen up the stuff (mostly hydrocarbons) left behind in the fuel system. It acts as a detergent so there is a chance this stuff has clogged the injectors a little bit and slightly altered their spray pattern, which would affect your mileage.
