Motor mounts - 30 PSI 4x4 launches

How well do the stock motor mounts hold up the a 30 psi boosted launch with the 06 truck in my sig.

a guy said, we would rip the motor out of its original place, launching at 30 psi... the billet tranny has still held up to it...

if we do need something better, where should i look to buy something stronger?

That's pretty high for a boosted launch. I've talked to people who have broken intermediates with 25-30psi launches.

In my experience the 1/4 mile times don't get that much better with a boosted launch over 20psi. If I launch higher than 20psi the tires break loose and 60' times go down but 1/4 mile times go up. Maybe it's different with a single?

i agree with justin. 30 psi boost launch is a little too hard on everything i sopose, tranny, axles, transfer case, motor mounts..etc

I used to launch all the time at 25. The motor mounts are the least of your worries.

The U-joints in our trucks are about as strong as they come (not counting the heat/cryo treated ones from aftermarket companies like CTM). I would still be more concerned with the tranny than anything (even if it's full billet).

Have you tried leaving on less boost?

I was launching at 18 to 20psi and spinning it was hard to tell I was breaking loose untill I started leaving at 14 to 16 psi and droped a 10th off my ET's.

If I left at 30 psi theres no way I could hook even if every thing stayed together. I dont know how your not blowin the tires off that thing....

It breaks the tires loose, but the road/tire combination on the truck seem to hook well! they break loose for a bit, but hook after that.

i have a question here. does that have to do with the tightness of the torque converter also? cuz the 98 in my sig launching at 20 psi launches just as hard as when the 06 launches at 25 or so. The 06 launches hard, and then it feels like the TC is slipping a little... i guess its normal, but it would feel better if it would keep pulling like it does at the launch.

the 98's torque converter is tighter then the 06´s and it feels like it doesnt slip as much as the 06's, but who knows... the 98 locks up in 1st if i flip the switch

We have tried leaving at less boost with the 06, at 15, at 20, 25 and 30.
60' is 2 seconds at 25-30 psi

hmm well I am pulling 1.85 to the 60' leaving at 14 psi if I leave at 18 i will get 1.9 to 2.0.

Try leaving from 10 to 14psi if your breaking loose your loosing time!
