today I decide to load level 9 on my truck and I waited on it said update done unplug smarty. went to start my truck it would not do nothing not even turn over. So I decided on reloading it but on level 9 again and I know if I done it wrong it would make me do a recovery program so I know I downloaded it right so it reloaded. Then tonight started the truck then it died on me right when it started. Then I went to restart it took forever to start. I check the code and it through 0513 code sim key. I have the newest program in it the july 12 one. I not talking bad about smarty just want to found out what is wrong can you help me bob. It seems when you turn the key all the way it does it start like it normally does just not feel right since I put it on level 9 have not had time to try any other level.

 

it could very well be a coincidence, The skim key code happens sometimes if you try to use the wrong key, not that you did??

The code in the key has to match to code in the truck or ignition ( where ever it is ) sometimes it gets confused. I've had the same problem as have others I've seen post about it.

I'd give it a few more chances before thinking the Smarty was involved.

 

smarty will NOT affect the lack of turning over. that is up to your key, ignition sw, relays, and starter. the smarty does NOTHING until the motor is turning.

I know did not grab the wrong key cause I just own one dodge and that same key started the truck. Ever since I have loaded the level 9 in the truck it has been starting funny. I can run the level 1-5 it starts and idle fine and have not tried 6-8 yet but when I load level 9 the trucks does not start right and it idle funny. Like I said it might be the smarty or might not but it seems funny it just does it when I load level 9. I love my smarty and had one in my 05 5.9 and never had a problem with it this is my first time just seems like some reason the level 9 on this programmer just does not feel right.

 

it doesn't always have to be because of trying to use a different key. I'm not saying the key is your problem, just that it's possible to get the skim key code for no reason..... just a blip in the system.

 

just got the phone with bob we are just going to try a different program in my truck there might be a gitch in mine. I don't think it the key thing cause it the stock program right know i can barley bump the key and it turns over. But like you said i will keep it in mine.
