Mega Cab Mileage Report 3K mile road trip
Ok guys just go a 3K mile trip to the keys of Florida and back. If anyone is interested in how the Mega Cab did see the attached report. Also keep in mind the entire bed was completely full of luggage and coolers. I had a total of 4 people and stuff in the cab at all times. Sometimes 6 people during day trips or back and forth to Disney.
The only modification to the truck are a Jason fiberglass tonneau cover and an airraid replacement filter with replacement tube.
2006 5.9 Mega 4x4 with 38K on it.
Thanks,
Jay

very nice report. where in tomball are you?
also what is the manufacture date on your truck? did you ever have to get a reflash for poor MPG? those numbers u posted were pretty good.

It is hard to beleive that a Mega would get that kind of mileage with the people and extra weight! They already weigh enough as is?????? Great Report!! I like when people go the extra mile to get the averages like you did. You are in the DEEP South where the roads are flat and the women are ____?

I live in just south of Tomball on 249 in Canyon Gate behind the Finnegan Jeep dealership.
where are you?
I have not done a reflash or it might have already been done. I bought the truck 3 months ago and it had 32K on it at that point. It was manufactured 12-05.
I do think the mileage was pretty good. I did find that if I keep it under 75 it gets significantly better, but I was following my dad in his lexus most of the way and they were going 80

I agree about the roads and I am sure that helped, also most of the way I was on cruise control and I maybe put my foot in it 6 times for passing or getting on the highway.
The best mileage I saw on the computer was the half a tank in the keys going 50 MPH on the highways. It got up to 27 MPG before my dad's Lexus broke down and I had to tow it to Naples, FL
I really would have liked to see my average without the tow

manufacture 12-05 there might be a flash for better mpg, engine performance, and tranny shifting. but with those numbers maybe the previous owner had it done. something to mention next time you are in the dealer.
what dealer do to deal with around here? have you had good luck with them?

You know, in Goergia I had been averaging 20.5 on the way to work and this is with alot of hills.
Took a trip to Illinois(the flatlands) and was getting 16-18 hgwy. Only thing that changed was the fuel.
I think it varys quite a bit.
Anyone else believe this?
