what is this air to water intercooler? how big is it and how is it situated in the engine bay, I am currently in the middle of some major changes and this intrigues me greatly. Thanks, Jay

Sure - NO2 is an effective chemical intercooler, but I wouldn't use it in conjuction with a properly designed air-water IC... are you using a passive ice-based chiller?

We are experimenting with an active refrigerant-based air-water IC using methanol-spiked water to lower coolant temp to 20*F.

There are a number of different designs possible; few trucks have them - it's a great "secret" to unlocking the potential for big, efficient power.

No, I have not tried it between charging stages. I have thought about though, plenty of times LOL

Right now, they don't have a price tag... but when (if?) it becomes available for the masses, I'd think they'd be less expensive than a quality air-air CAC, just from considering how much more efficient a coolant-air IC is.

Right now I'm excited to process all the prototype test data into both designs.

I picked up 2 MPH on the top end but I am running out of gear at the 1000 foot line. I was running 245's and crossing the line at 107.8 or 3448RPM. Either I need the TNT-R or run some bigger tires. I was running 85 in the 1/8th but I still couldnt get better than 1.84 60'.

Best of all, believe it or not, I was only running 900-1k on the pyro blowing a .053 shot in the horn.

By the way, did I mention I won! Finally a trophy for my case. I bested 2 flower pokes and 1 fellow Dodge Cummins owner to take the win. I dialed in a 13.14 and sand bagged at the end. I ran a 13.16 for the win at 87MPH. I had to get on the binders HARD at the end of that one.

Spraying pre-intercooler is more forgiving and has more potential to make added Hp over the intake, but it takes more nitrous to get the same effect. That is why I use a small stage to light the chargers and then a second stage pre-cooler to build power after the truck is rolling.

Any smoke left or did the nitrous clear it all up?....Ya want more don't Ya!

Please explain your launch sequence....I'm curious how you get the truck rolling (with a stick).

Snap Off, that is not correct. It has been proven over and over that injecting the nitrous pre-intercooler takes less jetting to make more power, not more. That has been confirmed by numerous others including Banshee, Myself, Jetpilot, and numerous others.

Mine was a tad big. It was made by probably one of the best in the country. It is capable of flowing 2,000 cfm with a 1 psi loss. It's a little on the crazy side. The cooling method for the intercooler is a 8 gallon reservior (that i can add ice to) and a radiator in the back of the bed. I imagine I could run a different media in it. Probably some heat transfer fluid and dry ice or something like that. Those trials are down the road.

The effects are pretty cool though. On paper (as if it works all the time), the turbos will flow 200 cfm more if i have 32* water flowing through the intercooler as opposed to 85* water.

With the turbo being as big as it is and the intercooler, it meant the fender-well is gone.

I get to the line and "wick" the throttle to try and build a few pounds of boost. It was hard to do this time because it was stop light drags where they can throw the green on at any time.
The camera had a few technical difficulties so I only got some videos of qualifying.

Matego Have you tried the 3-pedle way to build boost and take off in 3rd. I havn't tried it because I'm a wimp and don't feel like replacing my tranny. With my 35's I spin the tires threw 2nd and most of third. I bet with you using spray and those little skittles for tires you could pull off a mid twelve second pass.

I have tried it once and fried the clutch pretty bad, I dont have enough pressure plate load. What I need to do is get away from shifting in the 60'. I believe I need a set of 265's and enough clutch to launch in 3rd. Either that or a set of skinny 35"ers and a 2nd gear launch.

Here is another video of me grindin' It feels sooo good doing it too.

I have been trying to load a video of me against a built Scooby STI but I keep getting "Server error 500" from Youtube. Hopefully it will load and I can post it later.

I had horrible timing on this one and cut a 2.4 60' I still rowed him in, I was not very impressed by a STI with a aftermarket turbo and custom tuning.
