How much different is the sound from the MBRP muffler with the exhaust flowing over the louvers vs into the louvers? Putting a 5" system on over the weekend and trying to decide on the muffler orientation. The kitty won't be there if that matters.

 

With the louver openings pointed toward the engine the exhaust will be quieter. Pointed to the rear of the truck louder. How true this is I don't know. I have my openings pointed toward the engine and my exhaust is still pretty loud. My wife can hear me coming down the street.

I pointed mine away from the engine but I have no way to compare the sound. It seems like there would be less restriction this way.

 

Ive done it both ways, and like sid said with the open end of the louvers facing the engine it is quieter.
