MBRP Cool Duals

Hay Guys I am in the process of ordering the MBRP Cool Duals to Replace my bustes exhaust. I am curious as to how you guys like the sound? I have heard clips of the outside but none on the inside. Is there drone? IF so how much. I pull all the time so I don't want drone. I also don't want to pay that much for an exhaust and then not like it? I plan on putting on dual 6" tips so I know that will make it louder but how loud is the muffler???

THanks Shane

I think it will depend on how much weight you pull. I have the cool duals and really like them, but they do drone when I tug a heavy load. Empty it is fine, nice and quiet when "stop and going" with a nice growl under WOT. My drone might be a little worse though because I have a cap for the exhaust to echo in. Hope this helps some.

Mudslinger:

I also have a cap I have heard that If i move the tips out just past the bumper it will keep the drone down and the soot of my bumper. I tow 10000 pounds along with the weight of a lifted truck all day long so I am wondering about drone. Right now I have a Rokktech muffler but they don't offer a 4" dual muffler and I haven't really looked into how much some one would charge me to make one. I would rather do it myself. Thanks for any info.

With alot of time with 10000# I would get an aeroturbine or something else in there as well. I hear that is supposed to help. I have 35's instead of 37's(not for long), but with 1500# in the back I get no drone what so ever. But when I moved I had closer to what you pull and it was fine in town, with a tolerable drone on the freeway. For me I could live with it as is, but lots of mileage could get annoying. I have my tips way out too. My truck is black so it helps hide the soot, but my bumper is usually clean, just the tips turn really black . Any other questions let me know.

I have no cat and the cool duals. It drones from 2200-2400 RPM and that is it. I also have the tips. I got my system through Larry Ellis who runs this site. Excellent price and VERY fast shipping. I have a hard lid on the back of my truck and I had it off this weekend, it is louder without the lid for sure. My tips go out just past my body panel. It is not very loud in the cab but it is noticibly louder than stock for sure. To get the full effect I have to turn the radio down and roll the windows down.

I also have the Duals and love the sound. The wife has never complained, so can't be too bad.

I have the cool duals, and also a cap. My trailer weghs about 8500 lbs, under heavy load, you can hear the sound of exhaust, but no drone. I have one of the first systems built by MBRP, it has over almost 100,000 miles on it, with not one problem. You won't be disapointed.

I think you will be happy, and worst off just do the resonator. It's definately nice to hear the engine growl.

duals

i have the duals on my mega cab and i pull 10000lbs also with the stock resonator the one in the tailpipe on the mega cabs in front of the muffler and is almost to the point of putting in the old trusty donaldson 51" instead of the mbrp muffler, drone is pretty bad at certain rpms, but try it like the rest of us ill almost bet you will think the drone is too much without cat. my .02

I have the Flo Pro dual exhaust, and man, that muffler that comes in the kit absolutely STINKS! it has no fiberglass in it, so it drones REALLY bad. I put a 5" muffler before the other muffler, and it sounds pretty quiet, but good, I think

just my 2 cents
