This may be a dumb question but what is the max speed the truck will run on a 2003 HO 48RE?

I agree with DENVER DODGE, it should be about 112-113 MPH if you have the higher gear ratio (3.73). With the 4.10's it is going to be lower.

127mph GPS verified on my 03. At the time I had 4.5" lift, 35" Toyo's, orignal 130hp Smarty program. This was back in the day before the smarty could adjust top speed. I just used the key start trick top reach high speeds. At 100mph turn your key and hold it in the start position and you will be able to go as fast as you can.

Now that I have more mods I know I could hit 130+ gps

Here's the video.

I am pretty sure you are going to drop MPGs. You are going to put more wear and tear on you tranny and your egts will be generally higher because of the extra load. Speaking from Experience.

I have driven many times at 165-172 range, mustang and Street Bike, and I will have to agree to the above post that 130 in my truck is a puckering experience. One that I will not go and try just for fun! On another note, my last dyno runs at Edge in OD showed me at 160mph. I thought my tires were going to grenade!

The reason I asked is that the Smarty SR has the speed limiter but Jr does not. Trying to justify the SR as I would like to try the JR. Only need the power of the JR as the SR only goes to 130 hp for the 03 trucks.
