Good flowing muffler

Gauges so he can monitor his driving habits

Not necessary, but beneficial, a good fuel system that has air separation. Good clean fuel ensures a cleaner CP3 and injectors, keeping better performance and mileage.

thats a perfect recipe for good mileage, IF he can keep his foot out of it and maintain speeds, no abrupt stops and goes.

dont forget about tire inflation, pump em up good and hard heehee, also a timing module or rochtech sensor may help, some say 2cycle oil in the fuel helps, lots of highway driving he may want a toanau cover or a flow thru tailgate, but like stated above more air in and more air out is always good.

I would say you would be hard pressed to EVER re-coupe your money spent out on things to improve your mpg.

The best things to do ,are the things that are free....slow down , check your air pressure ,etc...

I`m sure others will say differently though.

Slowing down has got to be top of the list. Tire Pressure, lower the truck, taller, skinny tires, gear vendors unit, new gearing, perhaps tonneau cover, changes the towing mirrors out with the small ones, lighten the truck up by pulling all the junk out of it, just a few of them. But at a point you have to ask yourself why did you even by a pickup truck....
