Looking for mod help.

First off I would like to say what a great sight this is. Alot of good people with great advice.

I have just about to start down the long road of truck moding for performance and also looks. I have a 2005 Dodge Ram 2500 crew cab with 35,000 miles on her. I love the diesel and will never go back.

My first choice is going to be a Smarty. Going to be buying one in the next week here. Thanks Bob and Marco for making an first rate product from what I have read on here. After that mod the I am not sure on what is next. So I am turning to you guys for help. Thanks....

I assume you already have a CAI and maybe an exhaust? If not, that's a good place to start... let it breathe !

The Smarty is a good choice but.... get yourself some gauges !! You need to monitor your EGT's closely.

Upgraded lift pump.... if you try to run to higher programs, you're going to need it. Plus, with the miles on your truck it might save you from being stuck on the side of the road.

Transmission... you'll need at least a VB & TQ eventually to run performance boxes. If you plan on boosted launches... some billet shafts are a good idea.

Turbo
... you're going to need to get rid of the heat you'll build using performance boxes.

You don't have to do this stuff. The Smarty using the mild software will be nice to your truck. It's hard to not keep you foot in control though so, read as much as you can about the different mods / how they're used and especially, how to avoid major trouble. These trucks are strong but, it doesn't take much to break them either.

My vote goes for the tranny. Even with a stock truck it felt much more powerful, like every bit of the juice the motor was making was hitting the ground. If you want the truck to last, the tranny should be on top of the list.

The truck is bone stock I need to find a good exhaust and intake. I was looking at quadzilla recon for the gauges. The exhaust I was thinking Pinnicale power duals straight out the rear. Intake I have now idea.
