Line-X Rocker Panels
Line-X Rocker Panels
Hey guys and gals I was thinking about having the rocker panels on my truck sprayed with line-X because of rock chips and whatnot in the paint from before I bought the truck. My question tho is does anyone have any pictures of a truck with this and preferably silver. I was quoted $600 does that seem like a good price. Thanks again
That seems a little expensive to me. To get the whole bed done and upper rails its 550 here. It cost me 225 to have my RA bumper blasted, primed and
line-X'ed.
I was thinking of doing the same but I was going to use Rhinoliner because they have that color matching stuff and since my truck is white I dont have to worry about fade.

Do a search. This topic has been discussed to fairly great extents. I think it looks good, but my thought is concerned about the possibility of ever repainting the truck. I'm not too sure how well it could be masked or how well the surface could be prepped next to it.

that is actually a good price. I have a dealer here in town that is Line-X and a good buddy and watching him do it is not just point and shoot. there is a TON of prep in it (when done right) and the masking off of the entire truck is a PAIN IN THE YOU KNOW WHAT. so $600 is pretty reasonable. if you have fender flares, remove them and have them shot off the truck as it will be easier for future removal if needed.
seemed a little much for me also cause I had the entire bed sprayed for a little over 300 including the bed caps but like cbrahs said there is a LOT of prep to get it done right. How bad do you think the stuff would fade? mine hasn't faded at all in a couple years but its in the bed instead of on the panels.

LinieX now has a coating that goes over the rockers (can't remember the name for it off the top of me head) and it has UV protectant and is glossy. I have seen a few rigs done here that have been on there for a couple years now and zero fade. New Mexico is pretty bad about sun beating down being high desert that we are. 5000 feet elevation and have 100 + degree days (not many but it does get up there) and 60 nights during the summer.
I have a Reflex bed liner sprayed in. Wanted to do my rockers with it, but the installer said it wouldn't hold up very well. Local Line-X dealer said $275 per rocker, and make sure there is no rust, because the liner will not stop existing rust.
Any dealer who knows what they are doing should be able to color match anything and give you a good warranty against fading.

the local line-x dealer here wanted 550 for the bed but like 900 for the rockers, which i thought was a little high. my truck is silver also and if i ever did them i would see if they could do it in silver to match the truck. i think it would be a good idea just for the rock chips and such i would love to see any pics of trucks that have this done
I'd pay 450 in a heartbeat thats a great price for all the work. I'm doin it for sure if I can find it for that price. I just wanna use line-x since thats what I have in the bed I want it to match
