Lifted '06 tire size and speedo calibration

Just to let you guys know. If you lift an '06 truck and plan on changing the rotations per mile to correct your speedometer, you will be out of luck. The New '06 PCM only gives about nine or so options for tire size the largest being on 275-70-17. Never even seen a 275-70-17 normally see 265-70-17. This is a new problem we will have to find a way around if you want the original speedo to be correct with larger than stock tires.

Same with the 2nd gen ECM's, which is why I went with the Truespeed, then found out you had to dig deeper in the ECM.

You have to go into the anti lock brake section and set the pinion factor.

The above mentioned thread probably goes into detail.

Yeah, I just had that done yesterday, was on the freeway and everything seemed to be fine. Prior to the doing the correction, my speed was around 68 at around 1900, but now at 1900 I'm at 75 which is about right comparied to calculations that have been given to me...

I have looked around with the StarScan and could not find anything other than the nine or so tire sizes. If you don't mind could someone walk me through the steps. Tried twice now to no avail.

When I had mine done on my 06 it was different then the 03 but when tech called me back I was watching and he was able to put in 285 70 17. I dont remember seeing different tires sizes to choose from he just put the size in and it took. He also disable seat belt chime and enable hi idle all at same time.

Dealer told me if it wasn't in the computer that he could easily add it in, just would take a small amount of time.
