Leveling kit questions
I've done a search for leveling kits and can't find the answers that I'm looking for.
Where are these 2" leveling kits found for 3G's? How much do they usually run?
Can a relative moron with a normal box full o' tools install these in a reasonable time period? (Without throwing any tools or consuming massive amounts of alcohol just to get the job done? )

Re:Leveling kit questions
I believe my brother got his from Tuff Country. Not sure on the price. It's very easy to do. Your normal box of tools will be fine but you will need a spring compressor which most auto parts stores have available for rent. I had a 2000 Dodge which I leveled up and it doesn't take any time at all. Same suspension so I'm sure it's the same install.

Thanks. I can handle spring compressors. As long as the springs don't have to come out, I'm okay with that. I'll check out Tuff Country.

Re:Leveling kit questions
I just slapped on some 2" spacers today. Didn't need any compressors. Just disconnected one end of the track bar and the sway bar to get the front end to drop enough. Piece of cake. Just make sure you have good jackstands under the frame before you lower the axle down with a floor jack. Took less than 1 hour, though I've done it before and I used air tools.

I think your probably better off having them installed at a reputable shop that can also do the alignment at the same time as the install. Also it may be a case of you bit off more than you could chew if things get out of hand.I only paid $73 for the install and $30 for the alignment. Well worth it.

Tuff Country has their install instructions on their site. I plan ondoing it myself as well, looks pretty easy and you don't even need a spring compressor or other special tools.

Re:Leveling kit questions
I haven't installed the kit yet and probally won't untill I go to a bigger tire but my buddy has done 2 kits so far and they are easy. He paid @120.00 for the spacers and had them on in @1 hr. The shortbox truck looks alot better level. I don't think he has had any alignment problems but it is a good idea to have it checked. By the way, how big can you go tirewise with the 2 " block. 305's? I know 285's work well.

Re:Leveling kit questions
I dont have them yet, but I plan on putting 315's on mine after I level it. I know there are several trucks here with them installed already, with no problems, on/off road, lock to lock.

Re:Leveling kit questions
It is easy to install the leveling kit. There are no worries about alignment after it is finished,as it is a solid diff in the front.I had put 315's on my 01 after the mod,and have leveled my 03,but can't find a tire that will fit my dually. Some tall jack stands, and a basic tool kit,and you should have it done within an hour.

Re:Leveling kit questions
Are there any issues with getting the steering wheel straight after installing the kit? How far off center is the axle with the stock track bar after the leveling kit? Does anyone know what the Rancho 9000 part numbers are for a truck with the leveling kit?

Interco makes some tall/skinny tires for lifted dually's..Also Buckshots come in tall/skinny sizes

Re:Leveling kit questions
Installed the Tuff Country 2" in my 04, Slight issue getting the passenger side to install (axle would not drop on that side for clearance) had to remove lower axle bolt to remove restriction. Otherwise no problems with install... ;D
