Questions on 2" leveling kit
Hello all,
I have the 2" leveling kit (tuff country) and have already emailed them..twice, with no response. So I will ask you guys the same questions.
My tires rub on the cab side of the wheel well when turned when the tire is closest to the bottom tip where there's metal and plastic, when going over bumps slowly. Usually when backing out of drive way. My guess is the tire expands when going over the bumps. Mostly b/c my wheels have 4.5" of backspacing.
If they make them for a 2" kit, would longer track arms move the axle forward enough to clear the tire from rubbing. I think there's a picture in my gallery and you can tell there's more room on the front than the back.
Secondly do I need a 2" sway bar spacer and a 2" drop steering arm?
I might say heck with it all and go to their 4.5" kit that has all the goodies. Just seems a bit high for my application and taste.
sorry for length,
Jamie

DT makes 1/2 inch longer arms for the 2nd gen's.
Not sure if they'd work on the 3rd gens, or if they make the longer arms for the 3rd gens.
(on edit, they make them, link here http://www.dtprofab.com/dodge.htm )
Sounds like you're suffering from the same thing I dealt with.
Too little backspacing, 10 inch wide wheel and a 2 inch leveling kit.
I destroyed both of my splash guards in the week I waited to get the 4.5" kit.
I can still rub in the same place on a good stuff, hard right turn into a steeply sloped driveway for instance.
