Larger Exhaust Housing for 04.5 Turbo?
Wouldnt much matter the rear wheel size is a joke!
I would look into a Schwitzer replacement.
B1, HT, etc.
Dont go backwards and get a Super B either.
I would suggest starting at least with a 64mm compressor wheel and a 14cm housing.

Good point, but won't a larger housing reduce the driveline pressure?
I'm looking for a possible intermediary before I go with twins, and I can't see buying a single that is only going to get me 50psi. I realize that a replacement single will be more efficient then a modified stocker, but its probably not going to be that much more efficient.

The turbine housing and turbine wheel are matched for efficiency. If you were able to find a larger turbine housing that would fit the bearing housing, the exhaust outlet would not be the right size for the small turbine wheel. What would happen is the exhaust gasses would flow through the gap between the wheel and the new housing instead of through the wheel….path of least resistance. You could loose 50% or more exhaust gas energy from this, resulting in a turbo that probably would be a lag pig and not make 20 lbs total boost. The only way to make it work would be to find a larger housing that had a small outlet like the stock housing, but then you would be defeating the purpose of trying to upgrade to start with.
In order to do it right, make it work, and see a benefit, you would have to swap the housing and the wheel, which then requires a complete rebalance (this takes special equipment). At this point, you would be into a turbo shop for 3/4 of the price of a new turbo and it's benefits would probably not make the cost of upgrading worth it.
You would be much better off just upgrading to a larger turbo.
