Keep my TST or ditch it?
Keep my TST or ditch it?
Like the title says, should I keep it or sell it to help with the "twins fund"?
I rarely ever change my TST, it has been on 2/0 on the econ program for who knows how long and I dont really think it is necessary with the new TNT R program. I know there may be some HP there to gain but I dont sled pull, or drag race and I am not buildin a dyno crusher either. I would like to keep my truck as reliable as possible but break the 700hp mark. I know those 2 dont exaclty go hand and hand but you get what I am sayin.
Basicaly I think my TST may have the potential to do more harm then good and I was wonderin what you guys thought.
Thanks for any input and .02

I can agree with you on that, if the TNT is doing fine on your truck that should be all the tuning you need. Get rid of it, get your twins, and later on down the road pick up a used one cheap and try it out.
I say ditch it.. No word so far on whether TST will ever have a correct stack program out for the TST that will work with the TNT. Its been looked at for a while and they still haven't figured it out.
TST is an awesome box.. But the TNT already has extreme duration, add that with the TST and it just doesn't work quite right.

Depends how you truck likes it. Some have had issues others it works well. Works great on my truck. I have talked with a few guys that dyno often and they are still building more boost and getting more power than with any downloader alone. I like to try and get every last pony out of my truck so I will be keeping mine.
Agree with Rye above... I can't go over 3/0 on tt05. After that egts skyrocket and power goes way down. The rail is not being drained either. I believe that is the point where the duration overlap problem happens. Without the TST I am about 1/2 to 3/4 of a second slower in the 1/4 mile-- so there is definitely a benefit.
Wow, thats a big diff. I may do like stated above and get rid of it for now and try again later. It just seem that even with auto timing on 3 and 2/0 on econ I get a lot of timing or injector rattle. It may not be bad at all but I dont much care for the way it sounds. I figured I was getin maybe 20 or so hp out of it but 3/4 of a second is a pretty big deal. But the is also a 305 motor so I dont know how much of a diff it makes.
Thanks for all the input.
