Forrest,
I guess it could be titanium. I really have no way of checking, I just assumed.

Close I believe...the turbine housing is different on the A5K so it will bolt to the stock manifold!

Notice the very aggressive blade structure on the K31's turbine wheel. This helps make driving a turbo this size as a single alot easier.

Which also means VERY good spoolup as a primary, too!

Pourin...do you have any pics of the A5K for comparison??

I have had mine up to around 58psi I think. I have never looked at the gauge while sledpulling.

Some have spun it up into the 70psi area but I would advise keeping it under 60lbs for a long life span.

So the K31 will not bolt up to the stock manifold.

What else is differant between it and the A5000?

As said above the turbine housing ATS supplies with the A5k makes it possible to mount the turbo to the stock or ATS manifold.
ATS has done their homework on the A5K. The turbine housing is not just off the shelf and bolted on. The housing they supply has been machined to accept this large wheel and re-drilled for their housing retainer bolts and tapped in the rear to accept the ATS ring outlet to mount a standard downpipe to. ATS also includes a outlet pipe that connects to your specific model year of trucks intercooler along with an intake hose that mounts to the Aurora 5000.

Some intakes are not compatible with the Aurora 5000 like the: Stage 2 from AFE..there is just not enough room for both to cohabitate. So some will have to fab up their own intake system (like I did).

If you are interested in running the K31 as a single I advise you to buy the Aurora 5000 from ATS. You wont be sorry.
If you are making your own twins and want a BG Performance K31 it can be had for around $925 +/-

Is there any advantage of the K31 over the A5k in a single set up?

Believe me if I didnt tow so much I would get an A5k, that is more or less my dream turbo but as of right now my truck sees too much work, not a lot but enough that I think I would regret gettin the ats. Ill start out with a 62 and go up as need be but as I have said in my other posts I am waitin for Peter to get done with those spring loaded clutches.

Been waitin a good month now, I sure hope it is worth it.

cool, I tried to post, but comp wouldn't let me... I know a lot of centrifugal supercharger companies have gone to billet aluminum compressor wheels.

Justin,

How do you like the K-31 compared to your A5k?
