which intake?

I have a 600, and want to get an intake, which one is best for the engine, I am looking for a little more turbo sound also.

Can the stock filter minder be used with the scotty III?

PowerStroke_This has a AFE with Torque Tube and his turbo is really noticeable. With the AFE you will still be able to use the filter minder and it will still work.

Filter minder does not work with the Scotty Ram Air III
Theres too much air volume. Even the newest updated spring in the minder got sucked down.
Inspection of the filter and if you are not in real dusty conditions...15-25,000 miles between cleanings.

Sounds real nice too. Not too loud, just right.

Hope this helps.

Hmmm, does that mean the Scotty RamAir 3 draws enough air to suck down filter minder and others don't. Wonder which one I want?

Is the Filter Minder monitored by the computer???

The RamAir3 is the one that I was going to order anyway, but thanks for the info.

The filter minder is not connected to the computer.
There is a sensor in the intake tube.

If the filter minder is mounted in such a fash as the intake drafts across it, that can create the suction to draw down the filter minder. That is why it is mounted along side the air intake hose in the stock box.

We also like the Scotty RA3 as one of the better air intakes and recently installed a 2-stage foam filter element and was pleasantly surprised with an increase in performance on Jeff's 2004 here in the shop.
