Installing a 05 CTD

Does anyone know if a 05 CTD can be installed in another truck (GAS) without a wiring problem? Can it be installed as a stand alone unit? Will it run by just hooking up the positive and ground?

Thanks CRIS

If its another 2500, shouldnt be too hard, of course everything that goes with the engine needs to be changed, engine harness(guages), fuel lines(maybe tank as well), engine mounts, exhaust, etc, etc, etc...

There was an aritcle in Diesel Power where a guy converted a new Power Wagon to a diesel, heck of a truck!

I saw that power wagon, it was awsome I'm wanting to put it in something that didn't have a CTD in it. Thats why I'm trying to find out what I need to do to get it to work. I think that the 04.5-06 have a ECM that runs everything. I'm hopeing that if I hook up the power, ground, starter and some aftermarket gauges it should work but I would like to hear from someone that has done it before.

I found a link to Auto World. They have put CTD in all kinds of trucks.

They can even Flash a ECM to run the engine as a stand alone. My plans seem to be coming together

Cris, Stealin my ideas are ya!!!! But I'm puttin an '03 in my plain jane glider 2wd. I'm running a 48re with an ATS stand alone controller to start and if it works then a Lenco with a CO2 shifter so you don't have to worry about the tranny controller. SuperDuty put an 05 Cummins in a F-250 and solved all the problems. If you get an engine with all the underhood components its easy to put it in a Dodge. That is my New Years Project.....I found a mint 2003 1500 2wd regular cab with 30k miles on it for $12k....just trying to seal the deal.....It's hard to find a roller that has a mint body for less than 10k but they can be found. The one I found has never seen winter. Let's keep in touch. Kerry
