Hey guys,
I put the Silver 62 that I had on my 03 on my 06. I think that I need more fuel. I only have the Smarty (old version). The truck runs well and after the turbo builds good boost there isn't any smoke. I pulled the boost sensor from my stocker and zipped tied it to my truck. I was wondering if the sensor needs to see boost before the computer will send full fuel?
The funny thing is at about 3200 rpms the truck starts to pull very hard just before it shifts. Does anyone know for sure what I need to do about the boost sensor? Is what I did ok? Also would some Flux 1s help wake the truck up? I do have the mp 8 but I don't want to run it untill I get some upgraded injectors.
One other thing, don't ask about boost pressure. I don't know... I have a Commander and it's just about useless. I hope that I'll get some time in the next week or so to be able to put in a real set of gauges.

If your only running the Smarty for tuning you will need a boost fooler, I think the Smarty only boost fools to 44psi, You already took care of the factory sensor but did you turn the wastegate "OFF" with the Smarty?

 

I also have the Silver 62... The electronic wastgate needs something plugged to it so the trucks computer thinks it is still there. Scott at Mass Diesel installed a device that took care of this as the truck would defuel without it. I had also read on this and some just remove the electronics form the stock turbo, connect this to the harness and wire tie it out of the way to satisfy the computer. I also have a boost fooler with my TST so if you don't have a fooler I would look into one. I have stock CP3 and sticks and am happy with how the truck runs with the New-TNT.. I had been using the Beta 4.4 prior to TNT as the pressure really helps spool this turbo up. When I run any of the software that does not have pressure the throttle response is slower and smoke increases. Good luck with the turbo...

 

Well a better gauge will help you determine whats going on but I think your on the right track. Your factory sensor should take care of the codes and the MP 8 should be doing some boost fooling. I would try a beta program to see if that wakes things up.

Bswope i can't shut off the wastegate the Smarty is to old a version. I need to upgrade it.
JP, I have the stock sensor plugged in. I'm not sure if the truck will deliver full fuel or not .
Trx, I would love to try the MP 8 but when I do I have injector trouble. I need to upgrade the injectors asap.

Not sure what your looking to make for power with your 06, but if your looking for more fuel with out breaking the bank, i would recomend an Arson 3 cp3 kit. I dont see in your sig that you have a fass/airdog ect, but the combination of the arson and one of those pumps with some good filtering capabilities should work real well with your stock injectors while running the MP8. Just keep an eye on your rail pressure. I just installed the arson kit on my 06 and it woke the truck up alot, rail pressure is steady and didnt increase the overall pressure very much, just get there quicker.

 

I think the Mp 8 can be used in moderation and I believe as long as its hooked up ( even at 0%) it will do some boost fooling which should help. Good fuel filters will add to injector life.
