As the title says the turbo is in, took me a little longer than expected but its done. The truck runs phenomenal but I'm getting an overboost code. I did instal the fooler that came with the turbo. Do I need something else to stop this.
There are 2 types of boost foolers. The one you have connects to where the electronic wastegate hooked up and is necessary so the computer thinks the wastegate is working even though nothing is hooked to it. You will need a boost fooler which hooks up to your MAP sensor so the ECM never sees boost over the limits set in the computer. Quadzilla sells the most popular one in the forums and all their power modules come with one built in. The edge juice also provides boost fooling and I think the Edge does too. You might as well get a power adder for a few extra bucks that has a boost fooler built in instead of just spending $80.00 on a unit that just boost fools. With that new turbo you need more fuel anyway. Good luck, Tom J.
On my drive home, i played around. In overdrive the turbo starts building boost around 1500 rpms. The turbo lights and really takes off around 1900 rpms and 8 to 10 lbs. of boost. I hit 44lbs. of boost twice, but didnt try any harder, seeing i was not on a closed course. I guess i'm going to look in to the quad boost fooler, since my trans will hate me if i get another programmer.
What are other options for programmers that offer boost fooling?

Did you change the setting on your Smarty to aftermarket turbo? That should allow you to run whatever boost you want. The Smarty is plenty enough fuel to light that 62. I can light my SPS62 just fine with bone stock fueling.
No, I'm still using the standard 4.11 tune. I didn't get a chance to download the other 4.11 tunes before revo was posted. I haven't really wanted try revo yet,( to much time to spend testing, which I don't have at the current time).

When you change your wastegate setting change it to aftermarket and it will allow you to run all the boost your turbo can make.
but the install was not impressive. the wastegate actuator hose kinked against the block and all i could do was turn it 180 and then it interfered with the oil drain, bent them both just enough to clear.
I love my silver 62. Slightly slower spooling but when it lights the tires do too. Ran aftermarket turbo tune but still got codes so I got a quad boost fooler and it stopped but still only seeing 40lbs of boost.
