Thumbs up Installed Daystar 1.5" 4x2 lift

Ok, here I was yesterday skipping out of work at 11:30am. I decided since I had the blocks in the bed of the truck and I could most likely get it aligned Saturday morning vice some time next week if I waited. I went ahead with the lift install at the base hobby shop. Well, let say 5 1/2 hrs later I was complete. Having done it now I can do it in 1/2 the time as it was a completely new learning experience. I know what needs to and must be removed to easily complete the task. I'm happy with the install as it is just the right amount of lift I wanted. As far as the install. I will provide the real deal install info as the supplied instructions and some of the post replys did nothing but extend the install. Sorry, I have no pictures as I was doing the work by myself and I was on a time clock as you pay by the hour to use the bay space.
***********Use Extreme Caution when doing this job!!!!*********
and
***********Save the beer for after you're done!!!!!**********

To get started you'll need an extra set of hands, proper hand tools and gloves (a must as I slashed my fingers open in numerous places). Plus you'll need Nut Buster or WD-40, caliper piston extenders, a short breaker bar, Thor (Big hammer to break loose the upper ball joint and steering arm so as not to damage the boot of the ball joint boots by using as ball joint pry bar!!!)

1. Lift the truck and place the jack stands under the frame. (I had 2+" below the tires when done.)
2. Remove the wheels, then jack up the lower control arm up enough to allow access to the upper ball joint nut, but NOT lift the truck from the jack stands.
3. Unbolt and remove the shock. (I unbolted it and let it hang, as I have Rancho's with the boots install which is a witch to reinstall through the shock shaft)
4. Remove the brake caliper then the ABS sensor line from the clips on the brake line then SECURELY place the caliper atop the upper control arm then remove the rotor.
5. Slowly remove the bolts for the steering arm, sway bar and upper ball joint. (With ALL of these disconnected you get the FULL downward movement of the lower control arm you need to remove the old block from above the spring.)
6. Now SLOWLY let the jack down to relieve the pressure off the spring.
7. ENSURE pressure is removed from the spring, then push down on the lower control arm until it stops moving, then twist the spring 180 degrees (you should see the paper part # tag for the spring) and angle it to the rear of the truck to remove the old block.
8. Now shift the spring forward to slide the new block into the gap. Move the spring back and place the block onto the spring. (This may take a bit of doing at first but once you get it, it's easy.
9. Now slowly jack up the lower control arm, while doing so with that second set of hands have them reinstall the streeing arm, sway bar and ball joint bolts back into the holes. Then place the nut back on each then tighten them down securely.
10. Replace the rotor and pry the open caliper for reinstallation, reattach the ABS sensor line back onto the brake line. Tighten down securely.
11. Opposite side is exactly the same and should go faster after you have figured out the secret to your specific truck.
