Installed AirDog! Have FP Question
Installed the Airdog 150 on my 04 over the holiday weekend, (wish I would have read 53 ****** write up before but that is what you get when you have no internet at the garage) All in all a great setup,
QUESTION - after install my fuel pressure is reading 25-28 psi??? Is that to much pressure, I thought these system put out around 15-18 psi?
Why is my pressure so high and am I hurting my stock cp3??
I do not mind the added pressure if I am not hurting the CP3 just curious why my pressure is so high
There are no kinks in the return line checked that already.
thanks

I believe they did it just in case you did some fuel mods and you won't have to worry about the pressure falling off when your pulling a trailer, not so good for the CP3. The added pressure won't hurt anything. I've had a FASS for 6 months, and all is well. By the way, did the engine seem to idle a little quieter?

Yes, the truck does seem to idle a little quiter and it seems to run a little smoother.
Also question about the noise amount, mine is very quiet on the outside but in the truck at an idle with no radio or anything on it seems to have a whine nosie that varies up and down a little. Is that what everyone else is hearing??
thanks

The up and down noise you're hearing is the relief valve on the pump opening, it's normal.

53Willys, I am cheking it at the same location you are, I just drilled and tapped the side instead of the top of the fitting. Return line is plumb to the filler neck.
Does that kind of pressure hurt the CP3??
thanks guys,

Mine has high pressure too. But probably because of the way I ran my return.

Yeah I'm not worried about high pressure to the cp3. But I ran mine to the stock filter housing, and I'm worried about popping the plastic top on that canister. I'm 28-32 psi. Just guessing really cause it climbs to 28 and stays sometimes and sometimes it pegs the gauge at 30. I have read somewhere no more than 30 to the fuel filter canister if you're running the plastic top.
