Injector Replaced,$$...Engine,$$$$$$$.

After a little road trip few weeks back, 0 oil pressure....killed it..checked oil..
6" above full mark.

Long story short, dealer replaced bad injector, changed oil, injector pm service, yada yada..

Heres the killer.....I asked,"How much if it was out of warranty?"

Dealer said parts & labor...$1200..

...He also added,"Be glad you're not
replacing engine. I've got two back there that need'em. Parts & Labor...$12,000."......(NO SMILEY SELECTION GROSS ENOUGH!)

COST OF INJECTOR ALONE IS $600.......

This is ABSURD
Is this par for the course? 1st & maybe LAST diesel........

Dealers are such rip off's.. Look into any aftermarket injectors.. I think F3's are like a grand FOR ALL SIX!!! $600 for one injector that baby better be golden!!!

Fluxes are 11-1200 for the Nozzles only....The injectors are 6 bills each at the dealer...sometimes you can get some off Ebay for 200 to 250....but they are there for a reason. Don can probably fix most injectors for about $100 per injector unless the body is cracked. KS

An injector is right around $400 from Cummins, and I am one of the unlucky ones whose problems didn't end with an injector replacement. But, I doubt anyone actually needed an engine replaced. That is just what they try to tell you. All I am having to do is hone one cylinder and replace rings due to fuel washing down the cylinder after losing an injector.
