Do you know what hole is dead? The rail pressure looks about the same as mine at idle, so I dont think that is an issue. Do you have one of those infra-red temp guns yet? You can check each cylinders temp at the manifold and see which cylinder is not firing. If it is cold, you can just touch each port on the exhaust manifold and see which one does not get warm. That way you dont have to pull all 6 to do over again. If you need any Cummins info from manuals etc. Pm me. I can hook you up

I would think it is higher because of the dead injector. You know it is not stuck open because of no smoke or running off. One less cylinder drawing fuel from the rail. This is just a guess though.

Is that your pyro reading around 145-150*?

If it's mounted pre-turbo that's way low. I would do the infrared temp gun thing and see if one or more cylinders are dead. You can get them for $30-$50 from most parts stores.

By touch, all the cylinder seem to be getting hot, yeah i the pyro is post turbo, my pre turbo is screwed up.

I think i read somewhere that bigger injectors add timing, is this true? If so i am running the smarty on sw 9, could i be running too much timing?

That video sounds like a dead miss in a cylinder. How bad is the engine shaking? What happens when you rev it up a little, like 1500rpm's? If all of your cylinders are getting hot then there has to be an issue with the way the fuel is being delivered in a cylinder. How much smoke is there when you give it a little throttle? You may have to get it under some kind of load and use a temp gun to hit the cylinders. A weak cylinder will be at least 100 deg cooler under load, 50 deg at high idle. Are you making any oil in the crankcase? Pull your oil fill cap and sniff a little. I know it sounds weird, but you can taste the oil and fuel will be bitter, kinda tart and antifreeze is very sweet. It is the hillbilly oil sample

lol It shakes pretty bad, if i give it some throttle, it does the same thing but faster rpms of course. not a whole lot more smoke. i just pulled out the first injector and i see the spray pattern, looks good to me, but im just going to wait till i get the new nozzles and put them in and go from there. Hopefully they fix the problem.

I think i found the guilty nozzle....The one that im pointing at was the only one without some coloring. it looked brand new still. it was in the third cylinder.

But now my question is why??

Maybe the nozzle is sticking?

It looks like the one next to #3 doesn't have as much color either. There's only 5 in the pic, what's the missing one look like?

Yeah i noticed the #2 is not as colored as the other, but it did have some color when i removed it, not as much as the 4,5, and 6 tho
