I'm going to be a beta tester!

No, I'm not buying a new 2012 Ford diesel truck

I've been in contact with the fine folks from Scangauge. They're working on getting the Transmission Fluid Temperature function to work for us Dodge/Ram guys. My Scangauge2 is older (but still works fine), and there is a new software version out. Version 4.02 is the latest, mine is 3.15. Anyway, long story short, after trading emails back and forth, and trying a number (10) different Xgauge codes with no success -- they are shipping me out an empty box and a prepaid shipping label and I'm shipping my trusty Scangauge2 to them. They will be updating it and sending it back, then I will have some more Xgauges to try. I will report back in a few weeks when I have news.

As a side note, if you bought a Scanguage after January 2011, they will update the software in it for free, and if you bought it before that, the update is $25. Scangauge2's are $169 and you get a whack of digital gauge functions, and it's also a code scanner/eraser. Pretty good deal in my mind. The achilles heel in my mind is the lack of a Trans temp function for us Dodge guys.

Here's a link to the info on their upgrade program, and how to check what version of software yours has. SCANGAUGE

Scangauge (Linear Logic) ended up sending me a new circuit board for my unit (Scangauge2) as I had version 3.15 of the software and the current one is 4 point something, maybe 4.02? Anyway, I installed the new board and just received via email the new codes to try for the XGauge. I will try the ones they suggest and report back.

There is a rail pressure xgauge function, but it only seems to work on 05+ trucks. I have been running it all summer and it works great.

Transmission Fluid Temperature (Degrees F)
TXD: 07E02124
RXF: 032300000000
RXD: 1810
MTH: 000100400000
NAM: TF4

Good news! It appears to work with the truck idling in the parking lot at work. I will check it again on my drive home from work in a couple hours.

Note that this Xgauge mights require the latest firmware in the Scangauge2 as it didn't work when I had the older firmware. Another neat feature with the new firmware is the ability to display BOOST (BST) instead of just MAP. Daddy likes.

I'm going to go in and change the name to "TFT" (transmission fluid temp) instead of "TF4".

Update:
Tested on the way home. Works fine. Started out at about 65*F, got home at 160*F. Codes are above. I did change the "TF4" to "TFT" which worked as well.

The Xgauge commands for fuel rail pressure for 06 and later and 05 and older (likely will only work on 05 and 04.5 IMO) are here:

This is great news. I'm going to check mines version and give it a try too. If it doesn't work I'm sending mine off for the upgrade. $25 is a deal for what I get out of this gauge. I've had mine since 2006, it's been flawless and I've used it in several cars/trucks since. Currently, it's in my motor home... But if I can get it to read rail pressure and trans temp on the Dodge, it's going back in!

Thanks for the heads up!

Don't forget the new BOOST reading too! (instead of just MAP which never made any sense to me, I know it is tied to boost pressure...but...)

Do you notice any delay with boost as it has to compute boost, instead of just reading MAP?

Not sure I'll upgrade just for boost, it doesn't read full boost anyways.

I can't get the rail pressure function to work on my 07 5.9L, installed it twice in case I made a mistake entering. I find the boost to work well, no delay.
