Of course I could be wrong.

Lots of "STUFF" happens between 500-600hp
That depends on how you treat it. If you do 20psi 4WD lauches or are sled pulling, I agree with you. If you just mash the throttle from idle (or maybe 6-7psi), I believe you are wrong. The Goerend TC and VB on a 48re have been tested to 650hp. People pay a lot of money for a lot of things they don't really need. I don't have that kind of money, so I research everything to death before I do it. That's why you don't see a $500 flexplate listed in my sig. If you do enough research and talk to the right people, you will find that the flexplates fail because of the stock TC. Replacing a poorly built converter ( not the guts, the case) solves the problem. At some point, I plan to be around 550hp and do not plan to do any more tranny mods. So he can cross off $5000 of your total. I'm thinking I can achieve 500+ for around $7000. Either way, I'm pretty happy with a dependable 14sec truck for $3500 in performance parts so far. I haven't been on a dyno yet, but I should be in the 450+ range for that $3500. Yes 450hp is way short of 600hp, but I still think it can be done for a lot less than $15k - especially if you can do some of the work yourself.
Anyway, that's my humble opinion.

Very good point. You can have a 600+ hp truck and drive it on the street with AWESOME street manners. If you need an example, my girlfriend drives my truck daily.

That may very well be the closest thing to an aftermarket VTG turbo that we ever see.

You are a brave man.

I'm surprised nobody mentioned this. With the electronics we have you can turn your truck up to 650hp for racing/dyno and then turn it down to under 400hp for daily driving. I'm not sure how a 600hp turbo would act in those conditions, but I think this is worth exploring. You could also buy the turbo to support 600hp and then slowly upgrade everything else so you don't tear a new truck apart.

As one of my tranny friends says. "If you upgrade one part, all you are doing is moving the point of failure to a weaker part." But, if you have a turbo that supports 600hp and a tranny that supports 500hp and a fuel system that supports 400hp you are bound to break something and as you said this is your daily driver. You do the math...

BTW have you ever driven a truck with over 400hp? Find somebody on here that will let you and you may find that 600hp might bee too much...Wait, there's no such thing as too much
