If you had it to do over what mods would you keep/ never do again?
I've been in the aftermarket part world since 2000 and have built up a few rigs and got started in Rockcrawling and researching and posting on pirate4x4...oops that's probably a bad word here but oh well.
Anyways I always do my research and try to do things once and so far have made great choices with no regrets so far.
My best mods so far are my
HID's
Smarty
35" Toyo MT's
Silverbullet
Fox Shox
Not to toot my own horn but I get alot of compliments on my truck in its apperance and its power and driveability. I like it and would be upset if it got stolen

Im extremly happy with everything i have except the above mirror pod. Its fallen 3 times, now that i finally have it very firmly secured it rattles at low RPM's and its driving my nucking futz
have you seen my injectors thread? yea its a fun one!
Yeah I ve seen it and I am watchin it but I dont have any advice for ya buddy. Im still knew to the hot rod diesel game and injectors are one of me weaker points.
sorry about your luck but I am sure youll get it worked out.

I guess the most important criteria for determining whats good and what isn't depends mostly on how your truck is used.
In my case, my truck was bought for and is used predominatly for towing so the keepers i would not even consider going without is
1 air ride seat
2 jake brake
3 satalite radio
4 heavy duty rubber "catch all" floor mats that i can scrub the deisel fuel off that is tracked in from truck stops.
5 12 volt plug in coffee cup that keeps the coffee hot

keep:
pyrometer on every cummins ...
DTT on every auto behind cummins ...
husky liners in every truck ...
chevy rear brake cylinders
dana 80 swap for a 70 ... why keep the 70 when you can sell it and get an 80 for a couple hundred more?
not again ...
no turbo that's "a little too big but easy to live with"
not really a mod but NEVER EVER let anyone pick up your parts for you ... ever

Great thread, keep'm coming!
Happy with everything I've done so far which is not much compared to most on here!
Got DiPricol boost, pyro, FP gauges I'm anxious to get installed in the Ipillar (after painting son's bedroom!)

From my TDR post:
Do again:
-Optix gauges
-cam
-injectors for smooth, factory like power delivery
-Smarty
-VA C3.1 pressure box
-TST R49
-twin turbo, specifially towing twins like BD or equivalent sized
-DD clutch.
3rd gear launches
-modded CP3. Fills in the flat spot at 2000-2200 rpm when the rail would normally drain.
-Banks intercooler - It works, but was a "soft sell" until I tried it out.
-Walbro+GDP 2um fuel kit w/ filter housing eliminator.
Not do again:
-big, honed injectors
-big, laggy, surgy turbos. As much as I try to rationalize that I can drive around it and live with it, it still sucks at the end of the day.
-aggressive pressure box with modded CP3. Can only use 30% of the boxes capability.
-Banks High Ram intake that came with Intercooler kit. Takes up valuable space and is attached with bolts that go through the intake and are sealed with rubber washers. Can you say, "boost leak waiting to happen?"
Wish list:
-VA C3.1 = best pressure box I've ever run: smooth and aggressive low end, but rail pressure friendly on top end.
-big dry air filter for twins instead of being resigned to oiled filters. I'm going to be trying out a big AMSOIL ea 4510 nanofiber shortly
-smaller injectors (coming end of January)
Will never be on my truck:
-lift kit (unless I can afford a KORE )
-stacks (
unless on those dedicated sledpulling trucks)

No worries Eric from your performance at the track Saturday I'll wait until you get your new clutch before I steal it!
