I would like to convert my 4x2 to a 4x4 but with a twist
I am looking to convert my 4x2 to a 4x4 but using Rockwell axles insted. Do you all know of a place in San Antonio, Houston, or Dallas Texas that would make this conversion? I know it is going to be pricey but the truck is already paid for and I do not want to trade it in. I have seen a truck on Diesel Power mag with the setup I am looking for. This is the only truck that I have that dosen't have 4x4. My 07 Mega and jeep are 4x4 and since I am not using my 4x2 for work any more I would like to make it my toy with a huge lift and wheels and tires.
do you realize how much Rockwell's go for? If it were me, (and its not) I would stick with the Dana family. They can be built almost as strong as the Rockwell's, are completely rebuildable, and have a huge aftermarket support. How about a Dana 60 up front and a 70 or 80 out back?
How about finding some portal axles from a heavier duty Unimog like a U1100 or a 416, that would be killer, give some unparalleled ground clearance. The 404 axles might be too light for a Cummins diesel.

you can get Rock's for $1500 each that already have the brake conversion. I will try and find the company that has them and get you the info.

Hey bud bring on your ideas. I was already thinking of purchasing some 20in Poison Spiders beedlock wheels and some millitarys 53in tires. I am not sure how much of a lift I would have to go with inorder to get this bad boys on?

and since you are making a toy a custom lift and 54" boggers or the 53 millitarys would be cool and if you need any more ideas i am really good at spending other peoples money
