I've been at work and in class. Its no fun.

I couldn't stand to drive with 4.4 anymore, just took it off. My rail gauge goes nuts with 4.4. Idles around 10-12k, WOT pegs 27.5k and throws a high rail pressure code.

You obviously liked the Smarty when you first installed and then you started downloading different programs and it got worse...right

I still run my orignal software from over a year ago and it still works great.

ALOT of members wish they still had their orignal program since it seems to be the best ever with not as many problems.

Just about every thread I see on a new Smarty download is loaded with complaints about something or another.

Yeah I know every truck is different but I think things would be better if you could get your hand on an orignal version.

I bet Marco's head is spinning trying to make EVERYONE happy.......People are always complaining about wanting

less smoke
better spool
less throttle touchyness
more TQ managment
less TQ managment
more power
beter shifting

the list goes on and on.

The first I heard of such things I had the local diesel guy throw some rail and fuel pressure guages on and my experience was a little different. 1-2 psi from the pump at WOT was not good so I got the GDP LP. On SW7 with 4.4 I was seeing about 8-9k idle and 21-22k WOT... (after the GDP upgrade and the DIY cp3)
The power delivery for me was very smooth and instantaneous. The only issue I have now is since the twins were installed-- and keep in mind I am at 4000' elevation-- I get a fair amount of smoke at the bottom due to turbo lag.

As it happens I have both of those DLers. I will say this,... after a DLer is on my truck for a few days it always seems to run better than when I initially downloaded it. I think the ECM "learns" and makes adjustments etc for the DLer that is on it. Just an observation.

I agree. I rolled up to the dyno from 2 hours away with the Smarty programmed. While on the dyno I switched to PPE. The PPE had never even been on my truck before and it still did 580hp compared to the smartys 546hp. Granted, it wasn't the beta smarty but it wasn't anything new from PPE either. Same ol HOT program thats been around a year or two now.

Well, that just speaks well for my injection system mods....modded cp3 and rail. It will peg to 27.5k and actually hold that psi for a second AFTER you let off the throttle...on level 7 with big honkin injectors.

I think you will be very, very happy. It has been my opinion and observation that the TST is best stack for the Smarty. I have read here from Nathan who does the MPI twins that the setup you describe will support up to 600hp. So what you have in your sig, you will be held back by fuel and tranny. You have to, at the least, get a lift pump and I would say DIY the cp3 or a stage 2 to get full benefit of your project. The tranny will not last too long on that kind of power. I think if you do those things, and tune your stack properly, you will see around 550-570hp. Having said all that-- I am waiting for the final release of quads new X2 that is stackable to see if it will be better than TST. It will sure be cheaper!

Oh man... a whippersnapper with the comebacks...

You know Phil, Maui was great-- just fabulous. You ought to see the tan I brought back.

For the money I spent on that trip, I could have a 10sec. truck by now.

You really need to see something besides Texas... and I don't mean the Texas Republic of Oklahoma!! (sorry Okies for the insult)

There's a big world out there... don't be afraid... just come to the light...
