Tranny has to come out.. Thats the part that sucks about it. I think you can wait. Mine started leaking at around 40k, just a little drip here and there, and I ran it for about 10k more before I had my HTS trans put in and the shop that did it changed out the seal for me at that time. It never started to pour out or anything, just dripped a little.

The guy who did my install said it is VERY common. And no, it wasn't a dealer. Its a dedicated diesel shop (and well respected in washington state)

I should talk to Dave sometime and get the exact answer. He was soooo befuddled....he kept the entire tranny to inspect, disect, and learn from. Shane got a WHOLE NEW tranny. I think that says alot...since he could have just replaced the frictions.
thats the story and I didnt talk to shane one of his buddies said what happened. Im not bashing on anybodies stuff just my point is any part can break. I like my HTS just like you guys like your ultimate trannies. im sure they are awesome also. everything can break there is nothing that is "unbreakable" in these trucks. thats why I just stick to getting on the dyno so I dont start trashing axles and who knows what
