Angry I guess I need an alarm now...

Well, guys, it happened to me now. This weekend I went to Austin to see my girl. Today I'm getting ready to leave, and as i walk to the truck, I immediately sense something wrong.(the driver-side window was down) as I get to the truck I realize that it was broke into. They tried to take my screen. They only got away with the actual screen, but not the deck. I guess they don't know much about screens; they just ripped the screen out of the deck(of course its useless now). They also busted out my window. But they didn't take anything else. I guess I need to invest in a good alarm. Anyone have any suggestions, specifically on alarm systems with pressure sensing? Thanks. Rick

Man, that bites! I'm sorry to hear that. I bet you were sick when you saw that. Wouldn't ya just like to catch the turd doing that???? Even with the alarm, I guess the window would still get broken. I don't have my alarm yet either. I'm still researching what to get, but in the meantime I put a flashing red l.e.d. in the dash so people would think that it is alarmed and maybe not break my window out.

I really feel for your pain. That sucks, i have had my old truck broken into. If i ever caught someone breaking into my truck, i wouldnt call the cops. i would take them out in the woods and deal with them the right way.

Is that your window on your drivers seat? Didn't know dodge used safety glass or does tint hold it together that well?

That was the tint holding it all together. the police officer was able to take it out as one piece and take fingerprints. I'll admit I was very sick to my stomache (I'm from the country, and this is the 1st time any of my vehicles have been broken into, none-the-less my favorite vehicle out of them all.) When I seen, so many impulses ran through my head, and anyone looking at me by the truck made me so suspicious, I was just ready to go crazy. What sucks is I can't afford another navi screen right now, so I have to go with a normal deck. $2k that's plain out useless now.

I don't think an alarm is going to stop that from happening. If they wnat it they will try to get it, no matter if there is an alarm or not.

Well I think the pressure sensing kind alarms will work alot better. You touch the truck and it lets out a warning. May not stop it from happening, but itll let me know and give me a better chance to take him down.

Man I'm really sorry about that, its happened to me too, along with my gf. I havn't gotten an alarm yet but she did. You got lucky, her truck looked ten times more torn up. They ripped everything out and you could tell they'd done it before caus they got what they wanted. Anyway, she went and got a clifford sytem. Its really nice and super sensitive and will even go off if you tap the window or try to jack up the truck to steal the rims. And it has remote start for diesels too.
