Hypertech Power programmer

I just got my new Summit Racing catalog and they are showing a new listing for the Power Programmer for the 02-03 Dodge Cummins Diesel! I had one of these on my 95 trans-am and it had some great features. You can program for different size tires or gears, alter your shift points and shift firmness, and a few other things in addition to it giving you more power. It doesn't tell you, however, how much hp/tq you gain by using the programmer.
I'm a little leary of the listing since the 02 and 03 are very different. I sent an e-mail to Hypertech to verify that the listing is correct but they are closed till Jan 5.

Unhappy

Was looking at that myself on HyperTech's web site, but from what I could tell it was for the 02-03 5.9L gas engine (that their 360ci?). Sure made me do a double take though.

Let us know if HyperTech says differently. Not a lot of horsepower, like 40 to 60, but the other features their programmers can perform are well worth the money.

Oh well, it would have been nice..... They make them for the Duramax's and Powerstrokes! I guess the Dodge diesel is a little more complicated..

I used a HPP3 on my '98 Chevy C1500 gasser. And I wasn't impressed. I didn't see any performance gains other than the fuel gauge moving towards empty quicker. The only useful feature is changing the tranny computer programming for faster shifts.
Personally I would stick with the big name boxes for the Cummins.

I never really saw any performance increase in my TA either but when I changed my gears and tires I needed to get the speedo right. Now, the HPPs for the diesel trucks are actually giving lots of power similar to the EZ....

Just got an E-mail from Hypertech.

They do not offer any programmers for CTDs yet. They are close to having one for the 98.5-02s but nothing at all for the 03s. It's figures though, anything for Dodge is always a pain in the butt to get when Fords and Chevys have an almost unlimited supply of aftermarket things.....

I'll still stick with my Dodge!

Don't hold your breath.

I have replaced more Hypertech Powerstroke programmers with quality tuners and chips than any other performance mod. I would not walk across the room to throw one in the trash. That is only my opinion I'm sure some sing the praises of Hypertech, but I have seen much better products for the same or less $$$.
