htt sledpuller66????????

talked to paul today from htt. he says the only problems he runs into w/ the sp66's is a surge issue. not quite sure what this is;anyone? something to do with boost and drive pressure? im just trying to figure out what would be best for my combo. i drive it daily through all kinds of traffic somedays ;other days just cruising. don't tow anything but a 1k trailer sometimes. I want something that will keep most of the tst tame ;but totally driveable as well. also ,what size exhaust housing are you guys running? i could deal w/a little lag but i don't want a ton. i would also like to keep manifold pressure below 45 max! not sure what these 600 head gaskets are good for but i don't want to find out! sound like a sp 66 or not? thanks everyone

I'm running 60psi and it seems to be holding fine.. so far. :eyecrazy:
I'd say go with the 62mm if you don't want alot of lag, but trust me the ez+tst is way more fuel than that turbo can burn.

A friend tried one on his '04. It was way too laggy and surged too bad for any kind of seriuos towing. He also didn't show any major improvement on the dyno, EGT loss, or quicker 1/4 mile times from a HTB2. He ended up going back to the HTB2. Truck is in the upper 500's on the hp scale.

Bigger isn't always better.

Wow, I misread the title. I saw SP66 and I thought phatshaft. Heh. From what I understand the HTT SledPuller and the II PhatShaft are close to the same turbo. The superphatshaft from II has a bigger hotside.

I have nevered notice any surge with mine and it does have some lag but when that baby spools up watch out . The TST/Edge stack makes that turbo spool up. Paul over at HTT told me the samething surging has been a problem for some and not for others.
I guess i'm one of the others! Good luck with your choice!
