35 is still quite low. You should be in the low 40's. Sounds like you might have wastegate issues.

Realsquash, are you currently running the stock lift pump? Also, are you running any programmer/chip with the new turbo?

HTT told my dad with the wastegate disabled he should be seeing around 50psi and that it was probably the wastegate not sealing against the ss housing.

The truck:
  • 2003 HO 6-speed
  • BDTD on Crazy Larry (same power as extreme if you ask me and I always felt this BDTD is a little weak on my truck)
  • Quad Race (the setting doesn't make any difference)
  • Straight exhaust, stock 3.5" elbow on the turbo
  • Homemade PVC intake tube to a Quad intake/filter (PVC=3.5" ID but I had to get something going because the Quad intake won't mate up to the AFE tube I bought!!!)

It also has the stock in-tank retrofit pump. 9psi at idle, 0 psi with my foot on the floor, pretty much any gear. It will pop due to lack of rail pressure, probably as a result of the lift pump pressure, around 3300-3500rpm depending how I'm driving.

Since last night I can get 35psi all the time now and it maintains that. EGTs top out at 1150 or so (pre-turbo) with everything turned up and me hammering as hard as I can.

What size wheel is in a PS 62/14??

Cause with the TST Twins set at 6/7 and the MP-8 at about 50-60%, I can bury the pyro to 1600. Its runs like a scalded cat and its no fun when the pyro just flies that fast. The boost settles in at 42psi.

Its got its muffler deleted, Banks High-Ram, and a AFE Stage II.

Your PS has a 65 wheel. The SPS is a 71 wheel and the Silver is a 74 wheel. You could stand moving to a 64/14/71 SPS, or turning your PS into a set of towing twins. That would definitely keep things cool.

With the setup you have, you really should be seeing more boost and lower EGT. Although 1150 deosn't sound too high, it should top out at 1000 properly tuned with stock injectors and a the 71mm exhaust wheel.

Your boost problem may not be a boost problem at all.
When the lift pump drops to zero and the rail drains the truck is running out of fuel! Without fuel you CAN'T build boost.

I concur! I did have a slight boost leak but that's been conquered.
