HTT 64/13ss and SMARTY
Got my HTT 64/13 stainless turbo on my 03ho yesterday (that's all the specs I know of it) Pretty sweet, Smarty on 7 egt's at 70 cruising are around 800, a bit higher than stock turbo, wide open the most it has hit is 1250. I've tried 8 and 9 but 7 is best even 6 is good. Takes longer to spool up but not bad, Now for my question, the boost hit's only 30lbs wide open spikes 33-34 lbs, with the Smarty off the truck and my TST on it will hit 40lbs, both boxes work pretty equal, TST feels to pull a little harder, but I really like the smoothness of the Smarty. When I stacked them egt's were pegging my autometer 1600 degree guage, trying a bunch of different settings. I think I want to use only the Smarty, but not sure how to get higher boost? I know the waste gate is'nt opening with Smarty atleast I think not, because TST will hold 40lbs. Can the Smarty get higher boost out of this Turbo or is that it. I'm running the wild version for stock injectors aftermarket turbo, and have tried wild for stock inj/ turbo. BTW the TST is timing and rail pressure adjustable. Any ideas on how to get more boost with just Smarty? I do have a MP8 but have not tried it, yet.
I don't think you are running a Smarty program that includes boost fooling. I think it's the aftermarket injector programs that are supposed to include the boost fooler. Either try the different program or get a Quad boost fooler from this website. It'll help cool your EGT's as well as give you more power...
Try runnin the tst on settings like 1/0, 2/0, 3/0 then maybe bump up to 1/1, 2/1, 3/1, etc. The te nujmber will raise temps pretty bad. I dont know what settings you have tried but if you keep the tst I think your truck will perform better overall then just the smarty alone, and like wise better with the smarty then just the tst alone.
Also, I THINK that most turbo manufacturers send their turbos out wastegated at around 40 psi, so if you want more you will have to adjust it yourself.

Like they said....Run the TST on 1to9power/0te with timing set at 6 degrees auto maximum and adjust the TST pressure till you can run WOT and stay above 17kpsi rail pressure but less than 25kpsi...tuned to the max. TST won't indicate over 40psi on an 03/04. The wastegate as CQ needs to be set to open at 45 to 48psi. That turbo will probably go to 55psi... and still be on its map but your head needs to be studded. You will run out of rail pressure at some setting as TST + Smarty has a lot of fuel potential. ks

Got too play around tonight, Tried Smarty on 6 with TST te0 and 2and up on hp, fuel pressure 2-4 with 6degrees timing. The best it ran was te0, hp4,rp3 and timing 6 with smarty on 4. Egt at 70mph cruise was 900, wide open 1500-1600, this was the coolest settings I found, boost was 40. Smarty alone on 7 was 800 cruise and 1250 wide open. Level 6 and 7 are 130hp, and 8 and 9 are 170hp, but 8 and 9 are only 170hp on a 04.5 up, it fuels more down low on 03's but it little sluggish, where as 7 hammers quick and smooooth. THEN I left smarty on 7 and put on my MP8, WOW, best it's ever ran, spools up like stock and pulls like a team of horses hooked to a wheel barrow!!. I've found my stack, boost was still 30psi though but I'm HAPPY! As far as the waste gate opening, I can not see how it is when the TST alone would pull 40 and not bleed off. I talked to HTT today and they said the boost was just a difference in programming between TST and Smarty. Also with the MP8 the cruise egt went down too 700 and wide open was 1200.
