HTS Valve Body Issues

Alright, installed HTSs valve body and I'm getting a 2-3 3-2 2-3 shutter shift around 30. Also does a 1-2 2-1 1-2 at around 11 MPH. Anyone have this issue? Also, I can not get the "P" (park) light to come on - as in somethings slightly misadjusted (cable? arm?). This did not happen before the valve body was installed. I have to start the truck in neutral... UH!!!!!!!

whoever did the valvebody install either did not set the linkage or set it wrong. you have to remove the knee panel and trace down the steering coulum till you find the adjustment for it. pull the white clip and adjust it correctly and they push the clip back to secure it. the 1-2 1-2 shifting is normal to a point. does it do it just under light throttle? also the linkage is important to have adjusted correctly on a third gen so they dont flow fluid in park. if they do it could blow a lip seal.

THe 2-3 shuffle shift is common at 30mph. The rest is not. I know Jason at Diesel Nut adjusted mine as much as he could. HTS told him it is common. Call HTS, I am sure they can get it figured.

There are two things to make the 2-3 shuffle better to not drive you crazy.

1.) If traveling aroud the 30 mph mark leave it in 2nd until you get out of the speed range.

2.) When I installed the Smarty Beta 4.2, because of the Wild torque managmement it does not do the 2-3 shuffle.

Both are common.....DTT Shift Enhancer will eliminate the 1-2-1-2-1 with ease.....but not the 2-3-2-3-2-3....that one's a bear.....

The 1-2-1-2-1 is cased by a bad governor solinoid. The 2-3-2-3-2 is more thatn likely an out of adjustment Throtle valve in valve body. Those are what I changed in mine to make it stop.

The 1-2-1-2-1 was present on my stock truck, present after a new governor solinoid (and some other part), and only went away with my DTT shift enhancer....so not sure what that means??

The 2-3-2-3-2 has been mentioned on many posts concerning aftermarket trans....across many brands....i hope what you say is correct, as i'll ask my builder, but that being said, the builders are aware of the built trans 2-3-2-3 issue and if it was that easy, i'd think they'd have figured it out by now????

Mine did the 2-3-2-3 shift and still does....Called dusty and he had me adjust a screw...it still does it from time to time, but now it's not as bad. Just the nature of this trans, your stock trans did it, you can just tell it now with higher line pressure.

Goerend does.

My truck had the 2-3 shift hunt when stock, but not after the tranny work.

If you remove you Beta 4.4 it might do it. I know it shows up when I do not have my 4.2 running. Shifts perfect with the TQ management of the 4.2.

Goerend maybe different.

you need to call Dusty and talk to him. if you call him and he doesnt answer he will call you back. mine did the gear hunt about 30mph also and he sent me another valve body to switch out and took almost all of it away. remember built parts will bring out all the little issues a stocker has

He has an 04.5 truck so the shift enhancer isn't going to work because he has a TV cable, not the electric throttle valve. Not sure of what his problem may be but he he should call HTS, they will hook him up.

Yea, I'll give him a call. Just thought I'd see if anyone had any luck fixing them. The 1-2 shift is very odd - only happens at light throttle around 9-11mph. I'm not even sure if its 1-2 or if its trying to lock up? When i put it in tow-haul mode it seems that the 2-3 problem is lessened.
