How high can I boost?

Just wondering if I could get some advice on how high I should be boosting? I just installed the edge juice w/attitude, and the setting on the edge is 36 psi. I just took it for a test drive and on level 3 it beeped at me and said it was boosting 38 psi. Just wondering if I could even use level 3? The only mods I have are full turbo back exhaust, banks high ram, and a stage 2 intake from afe. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!!

40 is about the limit on the stocker. Can probably go higher with no problems but wouldn't do it to often.

I don't think you have to worry about the boost, it's your tranny that will get hurt on the higher settings.

Thanks, I really appreciate it. I figured 40 was probably about max. Yeah, a tranny is definitely my next upgrade. That will take a month or 4 though! LOL I don't plan on getting crazy with it until I have a fully built tranny. Thanks again.

It really depends on what year your truck is. The 03-04 stock turbos can't handle quite as much boost as the 04.5+. If yours is an 04.5+ then 40psi is perfectly safe.

Does anyone know at what boost level will the stock truck throw a code?

e.g. if I want to modify the wastegate on a stock truck, how much boost can the truck stand before it thorws an overboost code?

Thanks in advance.

On my set up, when I hit over 38psi my eng. light comes on. I reset with PMT sometimes, most of the time I just leave it. If I don't hit over 38, after 3-4 times driving it'll reset itself.

I have the MP-8 and a wastegate fooler which I can set at 4 diff. settings over stock. I have it set on 2nd stage and at times I hit around 45psi. So far I haven't had any problems, I don't get that high all the time and it does depend on my lead foot.
