Boost is only one dynamic of a turbo. 60psi from a 66 and 60psi from an Aurora 5000 is 2 totally different worlds....

There are people that can make 60psi out of an hx35 but thats still only 400hp....60psi out of an Aurora your cookin' with fire!

Boost is one measure....volume is the important part...70psi out of a s400 is alot more air than 100psi out of a s300-66 if that was possible. I have a K31 that came with a gated 1.28 and it has an exhaust turbine housing outside diameter of almost 7.5 inches with a T6 flange in and 3.75 outlet dia (5") whereas I switched it to a non-gated 0.90A/R which is 6.5 inches with a T4 flange and 4"outlet. The .90 is alot easier to spool than the 1.28. The Aurora 5000 for Cummins is 0.80 A/R. ks

Not to get off subject but at what point (in lbs of boost) does the SPS 66 start runnin off its map?

I want mine right in its effiecency range and planned on setting the WG at about 55 after studs, but if that is to high I would like to know.

wap,
I would just leave it as II set it around 50psi and it should put you right where you need to be.
55 is probably ok but the more boost you push remember the wear on the charger especially the s300 units.

Thats why I asked, I realize that more boost aint necessarilly a good thing and I didnt want to over do it. I accutally have it at about 47 right now but thats fine with me. Thanks

Check out the SPS62 threads...

Aurora 5000 is a competition single not netting a good power band throughout the rpm's.

Yeah, i know about the dynamics of turbos and all that but the fact is that the map on this thing is unreal on efficiency. It flows alot more than the maps I have seen on any turbo from ATS. Also 400 HP is for wussies, I like the 600+, 10,000 pound daily drive that shuts down sports cars and pulls my trailers and unloaded gets a wopping 23 mpg.
