How big is the compressor wheel on stock turbo?

Are all of the 04.5-06 turbos the same? I have on that says Holset 2 on the compressor housing and it measures just under 2 3/8" so it is 60mm.

I've heard some claim that newer 3rd gen turbos are 62mm, does anyone have a 3rd gen turbo handy and want to measure it?

Also, the wastegate is precisely 7/8" with a 1 1/4" puck so total wastegate volume is 22.225 mm but if you opened up the passage to 1", you would gain 25% more flow and still be able to retain the stock puck.

It might be 57mm on the 03 early 04 trucks with the HY9, but I measured my HE 351 and it is definitely between 59 and 60 mm.

In fact, I think the 03-04 compressors are more like 54-56 mm, and according to HTT, flow a smidge more air than a HY35 found on 01-02 automatics.

Its more a claim of inducer size. The 62mm turbo's usually are advertised with a 62mm inducer and when you measure the bore on the compressor housing it is 62mm typically...same goes with a stock turbo for a 04.5-07 5.9L.

The 03-04 inducer is about 58mm...

To answer your first question: Yes, they are all the same for that model year range.

Fins or the housing bore right next to the fins. Obviously fins will be 1/2 mm smaller or so.

There is a 4" opening on all holset turbos that came on cummins from 89 to 08'.

There is another bore inside the 4" inlet bore that is just shy of 2 3/8" or 60mm.
